How it works

From thought to sent message in under a minute

  1. Press Start and talk

Allow the microphone once. Speak normally, and say punctuation out loud when you want it.

  2. Fix it with your voice

Say “scratch that” to drop the last phrase, or edit the text directly. Fillers and repeated words disappear on their own.

  3. Rewrite and send

Turn it into a professional email, bullets or an AI prompt, then copy it or open it in Gmail, Outlook, ChatGPT or Claude.

What you say vs. what you get

It writes the way you meant it

Speech recognition gives you a stream of words. Dictaro turns it into sentences: punctuation, capitals, paragraphs, and none of the “um”.

um hi team comma the build is green period can we ship friday
Hi team, the build is green. Can we ship Friday?
paste this into chat gpt new paragraph summarize the uh the attached notes
Paste this into ChatGPT. Summarize the attached notes.
let's meet at 3 scratch that
(the last phrase is removed)

Spoken punctuation

Say comma, question mark, open quote or new paragraph. Pauses get a period, and questions get a question mark.

Scratch that

Changed your mind mid-sentence? Say scratch that and the last phrase is gone. No reaching for the keyboard.

Your vocabulary

Teach it names and jargon once: chat gpt => ChatGPT. It's applied to everything you dictate.

AI rewrite modes

Clean up, polish, professional email, concise, bullet points, casual message, or a structured AI prompt.

Send it anywhere

Copy on stop, or open your text in Gmail, Outlook, ChatGPT or Claude in one click. Export as .txt or .md.

Private by default

Your text and history stay in your browser. We never receive audio. How your data moves.

Where people use it

Write emails, docs and prompts with your voice

How Dictaro compares

We list where Dictaro falls short, too. Installed apps can type straight into desktop programs and some work offline; Dictaro is free and needs nothing installed.

Questions

Is there a free trial?

Yes. You get 30 minutes of dictation with every feature unlocked, and you don't need an account or a card. After that, pick Pro, Lifetime or Teams to keep dictating.

How much does Dictaro cost?

Pro is $7.59 a month, or $73 a year (20% off). Lifetime is $234 once. Teams is $6.09 per user per month, for 3 or more people. Students and people with disabilities get 25% off.

Which browsers work?

Chrome and Edge on Mac, Windows, Linux and Android, and Safari on Mac. Safari on iPhone support depends on your iOS version. Firefox doesn't include speech recognition, so Dictaro shows a message there.

Where does my audio go?

Dictaro never receives your audio. Your browser sends it to its own speech service to turn it into text (Google's in Chrome, Microsoft's in Edge, Apple's in Safari). The text stays in your browser. It's only sent to us when you press an AI rewrite button, and we don't store it.

Can Dictaro type into Word, Slack or other desktop apps?

Not directly. Dictaro runs in a browser tab, so it copies your text to the clipboard (automatically if you like) and has one-click buttons to open it in Gmail, Outlook, ChatGPT or Claude. If you need dictation that types straight into every desktop app, an installed app like Wispr Flow, Superwhisper or Voicy is a better fit. See the comparison.

Does it work offline?

No. Browser speech recognition needs a connection. If you need offline dictation, look at Superwhisper, Dragon Professional or Voicy's offline mode.

How accurate is it?

As accurate as your browser's speech engine, which is generally strong for clear speech in a quiet room. Dictaro improves the written result on top: spoken punctuation, filler removal, sentence capitals, your custom vocabulary and optional AI cleanup.
